Registration night was a success again this year, thanks to all who came out. Looked like the kids were having a blast playing ball hockey. I think we'll have to make that an annual event. We had about 60% turnout, and I did talk to a few who couldn't make it that night but did indicate that they would be registering. Thanks again everyone. It makes decisions much easier when I have all of the information I need.
For anyone interested, and for those I talked to on Thursday, here are a few links to the coaching and reffing certification processes. Both have a deadline of December 1st, and require an in-person clinic attendance. Prior to that, there is also an online portion that needs to be done.

The clinic calendar is posted in here. There are a few in the Parkland region, but you can attend anywhere you like. The Respect in Sport portion has to be done first, as does the new Hockey University program. Make sure you check the level you need. It IS age specific, and there is a different level for initiation than for novice to bantam.

The clinic calendar is posted in here as well. Referees also need to complete the Respect in Sport program. There is also going to be a clinic in Dauphin for any girls who want to be officials. This clinic is only for girls, but will certify you to referee any hockey you wish. The goal is simply to get more girls certified, and this might be the clinic for you. It is not listed yet, but I will provide those dates as soon as I know. Keep checking the Parkland Minor website for more details as well.
Safeties - http://www.hockeymanitoba.ca/coaches/safety-level-1
Each team will need at least one safety for the season, and the information on how to complete the course can be found here. There is no clinic for the safety program, just the online portion.
We could certainly use more team staff volunteers, so if you think you might be interested, please let me know. McCreary Minor Hockey will reimburse all of our team staff members as well as all of our certified referees.
